Hello! My name is Katie Pickering. I am the Director of the Eagles Nest Child Care Center. Both my husband, Payton, and I are originally from Kingman. I graduated high school in 2016 and continued my education at Wichita State University. In 2020 I graduated from Wichita State University with my bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Unified. While in college I worked as a para in a functional classroom for 1 year and then as a para in a general education setting for 2 years in Wichita.

Following my graduation in 2020, I took a job teaching Kindergarten at Nickerson Elementary School. As my husband and I expected the birth of our daughter in 2021 we decided to move back to Kingman where I have taught at the elementary school for the past 3 years. Teaching children and watching them grow is my passion.

In my free time you can find me and my family at any sporting event, go Eagles (and Chiefs). I also love to read a good book and enjoy an iced coffee! Anything involving spending time with my family is my favorite thing to do! I am very excited for this new opportunity to help serve our community by caring for and educating young children in Kingman!
